As a solo law practice founded and led by Mr. Tyr R. Loranger, Esq., who has been a member in good standing with the New Mexico State Bar Association since 2005, Loranger Law, LLC, has consistently delivered effective, experienced, reliable, and client-focused legal services from its main office in La Madera and branch office in Santa Fe since 2008.
Mr. Loranger earned dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and History from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM, in 1999, and his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, CA, in 2004. Mr. Loranger was recognized for academic excellence and leadership, and earned numerous scholastic honors, including the Thomas Jefferson Award, National Dean’s List, Trustee’s Scholar, along with multiple additional awards for legal writing and advocacy.
Loranger Law, LLC, offers clients over 20 years of broad legal knowledge and experience Mr. Loranger has developed over the course of his career and by litigating a broad variety of legal issues, both civil and criminal, at all stages of the proceedings. - Personal Injury and Wrongful Death: Mr. Loranger is highly experienced with New Mexico tort and negligence law, as well as the New Mexico Wrongful Death Act, and has advocated on behalf of many individuals and families who have suffered personal injuries and wrongful death damages, and secured just and meaningful compensation for their losses.
- Estate Planning and Probate Law: Mr. Loranger has prepared wills and established trusts for numerous clients, and is very experienced with the New Mexico Probate Code, and has assisted with formal and informal administration of probate estates throughout the State of New Mexico in both disputed and undisputed probate proceedings.
- Criminal Law: Mr. Loranger represented the State of New Mexico as an Assistant District Attorney, and subsequently individuals as defense counsel, in hundreds of felony and misdemeanor cases throughout the State of New Mexico, including but not limited to murder, robbery, kidnapping, criminal sexual contact and penetration, assault and battery, larceny, shoplifting, fraud, criminal trespass, breaking and entering, burglary, criminal damage to property, receiving stolen property, embezzlement, blackmail and extortion, drug trafficking, distribution and possession, domestic violence, child abuse and endangerment, interference with police and resisting arrest, driving while intoxicated (DWI) and traffic offenses, criminal contempt proceedings, and probation violations, through all procedural stages, including but not limited to, case screening and initial charging, preliminary hearings, grand jury presentations, arraignment, all pretrial proceedings and motions hearings, and ultimately bench or jury trial.
- Commercial and Transactional Law: Mr. Loranger is experienced with the New Mexico laws regarding contracts and contract formation and has represented sole proprietorships, partnerships, and corporations negotiating contracts, drafting contracts and leases, assisting business formation and growth, providing corporate counseling, and has assisted clients in finding and developing opportunities, optimizing business plans, preparing business proposals, and addressing and/or litigating issues and disputes that arise before, during, and after contract performance.
- Administrative Law: Mr. Loranger is experienced with New Mexico law concerning administrative rules, regulations, and procedures for government agencies, the scope of agency authority, enforcement powers of agencies, as well as individual rights, and has represented individuals and business entities in administrative actions before the Office of the New Mexico State Engineer and New Mexico Public Regulation Commission, and the New Mexico Human Rights Commission, as well as handled appeals to adverse administrative orders in the First Judicial District Court of New Mexico.
- Alternative Dispute Resolution: Mr. Loranger has received extensive mediation training and has represented individuals and business entities in both formal and informal mediation sessions as well as full arbitration hearings where he has made oral argument, presented documentary and testimonial evidence, and cross-examined adverse witnesses.
- Government Law: Mr. Loranger served in local government as an Assistant District Attorney for the Fourth Judicial District, and then the First Judicial District, of New Mexico, and commonly provided legal advice and guidance to local and State officials, boards, and commissions, provided comprehensive legal advice on police and law enforcement matters, particularly with regard to substantive law and professional liability issues, and commonly reviewed documents of a legal nature for form and legal efficacy and sufficiency.
- Real Property and Land Use Law: Mr. Loranger is experienced with the New Mexico laws that govern the various forms of ownership of real estate and tenancy in real property, and has represented numerous clients in a variety of real estate cases, including but not limited to title disputes, boundary issues, easement disputes, water law issues, real estate sales, land use contracts, trespassing violations, nuisance control, permissive user issues, permanent and temporary license agreements, zoning and regulation disputes, land use and development issues, and landlord-tenant matters.
- Family Law: Mr. Loranger is experienced with the New Mexico laws that govern family law matters and has represented clients in a wide variety of family law issues, including but not limited to divorce proceedings, division and distribution of marital assets, child custody determinations, child support determinations, restraining and protective orders, as well as all issues pertaining to abuse and neglect and domestic violence matters and determinations and rulings from the New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Division (CYFD).
